Dr. Lee: Dual Board-Certified Orthodontist in Irvine

Dr. Donggeun Lee grew up in South Korea, where his passion for orthodontics began during his studies at Seoul National University — one of Asia’s most prestigious dental schools. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Dentistry (cum laude), followed by a Master’s degree, a Ph.D. in Dentistry, and completed his first orthodontic residency — all at Seoul National.

Driven to deepen his expertise, Dr. Lee then completed a second orthodontic residency at the UCLA School of Dentistry, earning board certification in the United States to complement his existing certification in South Korea. This dual-country, dual-residency path is exceptionally rare and reflects his commitment to providing the highest level of orthodontic care.

Today, Dr. Lee leads Shining Smiles Orthodontics in Irvine, where he’s known for honest treatment planning, expert clinical skills, and a genuine connection with his patients.
